Die Stencil Bastards Ausstellung ist eine grosse Inspiration für viele Künstler. Wer diese Ausstellung verpasst hat, kann nachher nur noch zu Hause im Bett ins Kopfkissen weinen… so- get the fuck up and come down here!

Wir uns sehr, Euch zum ersten Seismogram Festival” einladen zu können! Was Ihr hier zu hören bekommt, entspringt dem brodelnden Vulkan kreativer Musiker, der bei seinen Eruptionen schon manch neue Insel geschaffen hat. Wie bei allen Konzerten in den eineinhalb Jahren seit dem ersten Seismogram Konzert, haben wir auch am Festival allen Musikern eine Carté Blanche gegeben. So erhaltet Ihr, liebes Publikum, die Möglichkeit, Ungehörtes, Überraschendes und vielleicht auch Visionäres zu entdecken.

What do you get to hear here arises from the bubbling volcano creative musician who has already created some new island with it’s eruptions. Like it was with all concerts in the past, since the first Seismogram concert, all the musicians where given a carte blanche at the festival. Mariusz Waras also known as M-City from Gdansk Poland, was for the first time in Switzerland. The artist is well known for large scale stencil murals and his industrial criticism. He visited Starkart and painted two bold pieces – one on the wall – a plane crashing into a city

and the other one on the ground in the front-yard – a broken wall piece.

Known worldwide as M-City (the title of his remarkable stencil project), Marius Waras was born in 1978 in Gdynia, a seaport town in Poland. A graduate of the department of graphic art at the academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, M-City is Poland’s best-known artist working in public spheres.
Always intrigued by industrial spaces and their surroundings, M-City creates large-scale murals inspired by the factories, hydroelectric plants, chimneys, and cranes that dominate his native town. Meticulously crafted, with layers of stencils and seemingly limitless stark black-and-white details, these murals can now be seen throughout the globe. Recent projects include a large-scale three-dimensional sculptural version of an M-City stencil factory. Eager to integrate with his surroundings, M-City prefers to create his work in legal spaces where he can focus on a project for days at a time.

M-City’s unique visual language has graced the streets of countless cities, including Warsaw, Berlin, Paris, Sao Paulo, Budapest, London, Prague, New York and Zurich. Along with such notable stencil artists as Hutch and B-Toy, M-City was a special guest at the 2010 Bogota Stencil Festival. His work has also been featured in both group and solo shows spanning the continents. -Graffiti 365

C215 was just very recently in Zuerich and left some truly nice gifts in form of stenciled artworks in the Streets for us all to enjoy. Go and see them live while they still there, as on the screen it’s not quite the same. You probably know where to find them, if you know his style… A good reason to go outside and take a stroll, catch some fresh air and see these beautiful stenciled artworks.

For those who a not familiar yet with his work, here’s a paragraph Shepard Fairey wrote about him:
“C215′s art captures a light, depth, and humanity that is difficult, and rare using stencils, his chosen medium. Stencils tend to flatten images and make them static, but C215 has developed a style of illustrating and stenciling that yields an impressionistic illumination of his subject’s character. Even though his technique is meticulously refined, C215′s work transcends the formal and seems to get to the core of compassion and belief in the human spirit. Encountering C215′s pieces on the street is always makes me happy”

…. The kinds of aesthetic communication have changed substantially.
In urban areas, as on the Internet, there is a concentration of energy, kinetics, and information. This concentration acts as a catalyst and thereby promotes spontaneous cross-reactions. As increasingly more people around the world live in large cities, the cultural currents in these metropolitan areas are highly relevant on a global scale. Art movements such as “Net Art”, “Urban Art” or “Street Art” explicitly address this issue and simultaneously shape social developments. Urban Art and Art Net are both independent of architecturally bound locations, allowing them to subvert existing structures. Thus, they not only challenge the current visual, aesthetic, and conceptual concept of art , but rather demand a fundamental redefinition of information. Because the artists do no exclusively communicate with a specialised audience, but rather want to appeal to everybody, they use use a familiar language. They are not, however, bound by it. The creations of these artists show up most unexpectedly (in public spaces and the internet), are temporary, and are not necessarily designated as art. This cultural enrichment promotes vigilance and awareness in everyday life. Art appreciation shifts to the street, the office, and the home. Because of these interesting and important developments, Starkart focusses on Urban Art and Net Art……

MHN 3.0 14. März – 20. April 2013

Open Doors! Das ist der Mir Händs Nötig 3.0 Open Call! Die Einladung zur aktuellen Ausgabe von MIR HÄNDS NÖTIG 3.0 Diesmal ist die Teilnahme ANONYM, die Namen der Autoren werden nicht bekanntgegeben. Eine Einladung an Alle die inkognito experimentieren wollen. Als Plus haben Besucher eine super Chance die Werke objektiv zu betrachten und ev. gibt’s die Möglichkeit zu voten. Das heisst, der Ausstellungsaufbau am 14. März ist exklusiv nur für Künstler offen, damit sie unerkannt und ANONYM bleiben. Die offizielle Eröffnung ist einen Tag später, am Freitag 15. März ab 18 Uhr. Wer seine Arbeiten unkompliziert zeigen will, bringt sie am Donnerstag 14. März ab 19 Uhr unangemeldet mit ins STARKART. Für diese anonyme Gruppenshow stehen über 250 qm Ausstellungsfläche zur Verfügung:

-Jeder kann Arbeiten zeigen.

-Alles ist willkommen: 2D, 3D, kinetisches, Installationen usw.

-Du entscheidest, was du zeigen willst, keine Zensur, keine Auswahl, kein Dreinreden

-Keine Beschränkung der Anzahl Werke, die einzige Beschränkung ist Deine Vorstellungskraft

-Platziere die Kunst wo immer Du willst

-Verkaufen oder nicht: Die Entscheidung liegt bei Dir

-Für eintägige Einzelausstellungen – Minissagen, steht Raum Nr. 16 zur Verfügung: INFO

-Es geht um Kunst, Zusammensein und Spass! 😀

Weiteres:
Auch wenn man keine “Künstler/in” ist, kann man sich am Projekt beteiligen, z.B doku: Film/Foto/Video/Text, oder PR: Printmedien/Blogs/Emails/Flyers/Plakate/Networking/Social Media, Umfragen, Material etc.
Die Öffnungszeiten hängen z.T. von den Teilnehmern ab. Cool wäre wenn z.B. Samstags eine Late Night Gallery gehostet werden würde: INFO
Die Preise für die Werke sind weder angeschrieben noch festgelegt. Interessenten können online ein Angebot direkt an den Autor des Kunstwerks abgeben. INFO
Es gibt ein lokales Crowdsourcing: die Besucher können freiwillig Eintritt zahlen. Die Summe wird am Schluss der Ausstellung, gleichmässig an die Teilnehmer verteilt.
