Diesmal sind die Teilnehmer der Ausstellung ANONYM. Die Namen der Autoren werden nicht bekanntgegeben. Das hat für Künstler und Ausstellungsbesucher gleichermassen Vorteile. Künstlern bietet es eine geschützte Plattform, um inkognito experimentieren zu können. Als Betrachter ist man befreit von vorweggenommener Klassifikation. Das Werk kann für sich sprechen, was die Anerkennung für den Autor aber keineswegs schmälert. Die Ausstellung wird faktisch demokratisiert. Gleichförmigkeit soll durch Gleichwertigkeit ersetzt werden. Besucher können die Arbeiten neu und “unbeschwert” betrachten.
Heute agieren die meisten Künstler weder ANONYM, noch benutzen sie ein Pseudonym als Namen. So sind sie ungeschützt böswilligen Kritiken oder können leicht lächerlich gemacht werden. Diesen Schutz soll ihnen ersatzweise, ihre oft genug wie am Reissbrett geplante Karrierelaufbahn bieten. Ausbildung/Titel werden als Ticket oder Entschuldigung eingesetzt, hinzu kommen all die Taxonomien, die als Statussymbole funktionieren: KÜNSTLERNAME, GALERIE, KÄUFER, PREIS des Kunstwerks etc. Und die Sprache ist meist kryptisch bis platt und leicht amüsiert. Interessant ist in diesem Zusammenhang, der Artikel von Christian Saehrendt in der NZZ.
Experimente zu wagen oder extreme Positionen zu vertreten, kann für diejenigen die sich ihren Lebensunterhalt mit Kunst verdienen, eine riskante Angelegenheit sein. Das hat unzählig viele üble Nebenwirkungen für die Kunst… man kann kaum fassen welche profunden Konsequenzen das hat. Das Konzept von MHN 3.0 ANONYM soll kreative Köpfe anregen, geschützt durch Anonymität zu experimentieren und schärfere – epische Aussagen zu wagen.
*Die Preise für die Werke sind weder angeschrieben noch festgelegt. InteressentInnen können online in der Galerie, oder auch von Zuhause aus, einfach Werknummer, ihren Kontak und ihr Angebot in eine Opt-inForm eingeben und direkt an den/die KünstlerIn senden (Starkart ist nicht beteiligt). Er / Sie kann bei Gegeninteresse darauf antworten -auch anonym. Die Opt-inForm kriegt noch ein Update!

Wer seine Arbeiten unkompliziert zeigen will, bringt seine Werke am Donnerstag 14. März ab 19 Uhr unangemeldet mit. Es stehen über 250 qm Ausstellungsfläche zur Verfügung:
-Jeder kann Arbeiten zeigen.
-Alles ist willkommen: 2D, 3D, kinetisches, Installationen usw.
-Du entscheidest, was du zeigen willst, keine Zensur, keine Auswahl, kein Dreinreden
-Keine Beschränkung der Anzahl Werke, die einzige Beschränkung ist Deine Vorstellungskraft
-Platziere die Kunst wo immer Du willst
-Verkaufen oder nicht: Die Entscheidung liegt bei Dir
-Für eintägige Einzelausstellungen – Minissagen, steht Raum Nr. 16 zur Verfügung.
-Es geht um Kunst, Zusammensein und Spass!
Weiteres:
Man kann sich auch sonst am Projekt beteiligen, z.B doku: Film/Foto/Video/Text, oder PR: Printmedien/Blogs/Emails/Flyers/Plakate/Networking/Social Media, Umfragen, Material etc.
Die Öffnungszeiten hängen z.T. von den Teilnehmern ab, cool wäre z.B. Samstags eine Late Night Gallery, Einschreiben: HIER
Die Preise für die Werke sind weder angeschrieben noch festgelegt. Fast gleich wie beim letzten Mal bleibt der Ablauf wenn für ein Werk Kaufinteresse vorhanden ist: man gibt auf der Webseite die Nummer des Werks, das Angebot, plus die Kontaktinfos ein und klickt senden. Der Künstler erhält das Angebot unvermittelt zugesendet (die Galerie ist nicht beteiligt) und kann sich bei Interesse zurückmelden. Das ist somit auch die einzige Möglichkeit die Identität der Künstler zu erfahren: INFO
Lokales Crowdsourcing: Besucher können freiwillig Eintritt zahlen. Die Summe wird am Schluss der Ausstellung, gleichmässig an die Teilnehmer verteilt.

Projektbeschrieb MHN
“Mir Händs Nötig” ist ein sich selbst erneuerndes und nicht-kommerzielles Kunstprojekt welches seit 2010 regelmässig stattfindet.
Es soll neues Licht auf die Perspektive der Erwartungen der Öffentlichkeit im Bezug auf Kunst und Kunstausstellungen werfen.
Parallel dazu wird versucht gemeinsam mit den TeilnehmerInnen, mittels empirischer Methoden und evolutionärem Management, neue Ausstellungsformen zu entdecken. Das Mitwirken an diesem Prozess ist für alle, einschliesslich der BesucherInnen offen.
An den drei vergangenen Ausstellungen haben insgesamt über 200 KünstlerInnen teilgenommen und sie wurden von mehr als 1500 Menschen besucht.
Durch verschiedene Befragungsformen (Interview, schriftlich, online) jeweils vor/während und nach den Ausstellungen werden Einstellungen, Meinungen, Wissen und Verhaltensweisen der KünstlerInnen und BesucherInnen im Bezug auf dieses Projekt, aber auch gegenüber anderen Kunstausstellungen untersucht. Die Ergebnisse aus diesen Befragungen werden öffentlich zugänglich gemacht und die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse können als Variablen für die Organisationsstruktur der zukünftigen hybriden Ausstellungsexperimente verwendet werden. Dieses konstante Feedback gewährleistet eine konsequente Weiterentwicklung des Konzepts. Ziel ist, dass alles selbstorganisiert funktioniert und als Referenz für weitere ähnliche Projekte dienen kann.
“Es gehört zum Konzept von Starkart Exhibitions, jenseits von Kunstbetrieb und finanziellen Erwägungen eine Plattform für Profis und Nachwuchs zu bieten, halt für alle, die Kunst machen und sie anderen zeigen wollen, ganz ohne Grenzen. Solche Orte in Zürich zu finden, ist schwierig genug. Hier gibt es aber fast ein ganzes Haus für Musik, Bilder oder Skulpturen, einen grosszügigen Kunstraum für alle.” (Gregor Schenker)

MHN is a serial self-renewing project titled “we need it”. It’s open for ALL artists and artforms and takes part twice a year. Basically artists can just walk in and put up their artworks wherever and how many they want. Famous artists, who doesn’t want to get caught, can sneak in one or two days later, or they can send their work by mail and we put it up for them. They would really add to the suspense and make the people more openminded about art and value *1.
The participants in this exhibition are ANONYMOUS, the names from the authors of the artworks are not revealed, which has for artists and visitors equal advantages. For Artists, it provides a secure platform to experiment incognito _ to try out new things. The viewer is freed of anticipatory classification and can thus see the artworks in a new light. The artworks can speak for themselves, which democratizes the exhibition in way. Uniformity should be replaced by equality.
Nowadays, most artists don’t work anonymous or use a pseudonym as the name. And so they are delivered unprotected harsh critiques and malicious attacks. Thus most are afraid to make bold statements. In turn, this fear/protection should help them, with their often like on a drawing board planned careers. Education / Title are either used as a ticket, or an apology topped by taxonomies like: ARTISTNAME / GALLERY / BUYER / PRICE of the artwork etc. therefore serve as status symbols. Daring experiments, or representing extreme positions, can be a risky proposition, for those who earn their living by art. This is fatal for the contemporary-art in so many ways, one can only imagine.
The idea is of this exhibition is that it should encourage creative minds to be open to experiment and make trenchant statements protected by anonymity. On the other hand it should inspire people to take a closer look onto art loose their pre-judgement and add their own value to it *2. And not in the least it should make the exhibition more fun and adventurous.👽
*1 In the next installment of this exhibition, “MHN 3.1” in September, the names of the artists (or their new pseudonym) can be revealed if they wish so.
*2 The only thing which is needed from the artists is a email plus the number of artworks. We connect the email in our database with the number of the artworks (No one can see this). Potential buyers can fill in a optin-form, with the number of the artwork, their price offer, their contact and push send. The artist will get the offer direct in their mail. All the rest is up to the artist. The gallery takes zero percentage of course.

“Mir Händs Nötig” (a Swiss-German expression meaning “we really need it”) is an innovative, generative and non-commercial art project. It has taken place regularly since 2010. It aims to shed new light on the perspective of public expectation in relation to contemporary art and art exhibitions. Are current practices of organising art events, presenting art and consuming it, still ok? Or do we need to change our featuring? Parallel to this and together with the participants (the artists and the public), the discovery of new forms of exhibiting will be attempted, using empirical methods and evolutionary management. Participation in this process is open to all, including visitors. Over 200 artists have participated in the past three exhibitions, which were attended by more than 1500 people. This didn’t went down completely unnoticed by the media.👀
Vision, curiosity and pioneering spirit do not only drive creativity, innovation and interaction. These traits also promote the forging of identity and self-responsibility. The Starkart project “Mir Händs Nötig” or MHN* is based upon these principles.
Through various forms of survey (interview, writing, online) before, during and after the exhibitions, the opinions, knowledge, and attitudes of artists and visitors in relation to this project – but also in relation to other art exhibitions – will be examined. The results from these surveys shall be made publicly available and therefore can be used as variables for the organisational structure of future experiments/exhibits. This
constant feedback loop ensures the systematic advancement of the concept. The objective is that everything can be self-organised and serve as a reference for other similar projects.
Such a mission requires a highly motivated team. The time and effort required for the collection and analysis of data alone is enormous. Multiple networks have to be set up and the sharing of information needs to be coordinated. In addition, a collaboration with researchers from various sectors would be desirable in order to effectively formulate the entire process. Excellent public relations is also essential, to spark curiosity for the subject and to raise awareness.
Unfortunately, in today’s climate, it is extremely difficult to find enough volunteers. Therefore, not all the objectives cannot be achieved with the current resources. But we will do our best nonetheless.😎
To satisfy short-term economic interests, most galleries rely solely on established art. But art is so much more than a market segment; it is a source of inspiration and innovation and therefore an investment in the future. Precisely for this reason a project such as “”Mir Händs Nötig” ANONYM necessary:
it provides the time and space for ideas to grow and inspiration for the next one.
