Unterrichtserfahrung:

2009 – 2011 ZHdK Zürich, Master in Fine Arts: „Artist Selfmanagement“ (Lehrveranstaltung) Konzeption, Auswahl ReferentInnen, Organisation, Moderation:

Artist Statement

In February 2012, a shift occurred in my work. I decided to move away from portrait and model painting towards a less personal yet more expressive subject matter.
The „cake“ paintings satisfy my urge to celebrate sensuality and voluptuousness, beauty and repulsion without the obvious narrative associated with the human subject/figure as seen through the eyes of the artist. These massive drippy, glossy, gory and colourful deserts are a testimony to both pleasure and guilt, at once the object of desire as well as a living tempting entity in their own right. The oozing treats lend themselves perfectly to my love and dedication to the medium of paint and colour.
Adapted and abstracted from old master still-life paintings, the sickly sweet ingredients explode over the surface of the gloomy backdrop of the canvas suggesting power, romance and lust; all with a touch of humour.
